Little Gem Farm is a 1.5 acre small-scale diversified vegetable, herb, and flower farm on the black dirt in Chester, NY. This is our third growing season producing for a farmers market and CSA. We are looking for one part-time seasonal farmer to join us from May - October.

This farmer will work closely with the farm owner/operator on day-to-day operations, including seeding, transplanting, irrigation, weeding, harvest, and/or floral arranging.

Farming or outdoor work experience is preferred, but not required.

Requirements

• Able to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold)
• Able to lift 50 lbs and complete physical work
• Be on foot and perform repetitive tasks
• Attention to detail, flexible, self-starter
• Ability to work independently and in a group
• Valid Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

Position Details

• 2-3 days/week (M, T, or W), up to 16 hours/week
• Pay: $16-$18/hr, depending on experience
• Mid-May - October
• Unlimited free vegetables and flowers
